Who said rappers don’t get along? 2011 XXL Freshman Yelawolf is a serious supporter of his fellow classmate Big K.R.I.T., recently talking to XXLMag.com about his love for the Mississippi rapper/producer.
“I’m a huge Krit fan, huge,” Yela exclaimed. “Actually my manager J Dot put me up on his shit. We were riding back home from Alabama and we listened to his album, back to back to back to back. Huge fans.”
“He does the South justice,” the XXL March 2011 cover boy continued. “He does it perfectly and his beats are incredible. He’s just an all around talented dude. And keeps it all the way real.”
As previously reported, the Shady and Def Jam signees have plans to drop a joint mixtape. Titled Trunk Muzik Wuz Here—playing off the two’s respective solo projects from last year—Yela explained for XXL the concept behind the disc. “I’m gonna go over some of his records, he’s gonna go over some of mine and then we’re gonna do some originals,” he said.
Without giving a concrete release date, Wolf simply said he hopes TMWH will be ready to release sometime this year. “I know it’ll be epic,” he added.
